Install Guide

Eagle Team PDF is currently in review for the official Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons listings. Until that's approved, here's how to install it manually — it takes about two minutes and works exactly the same once it's in.

Don't want to install anything right now? You don't have to — the web app has every tool the extension does, with nothing to install at all. The extension is just for one-click access from any tab and right-click "Open with" support.

1

Download the extension

Email hello@eaglesteampdf.com and you'll get a .zip file back. Save it somewhere you'll remember, like your Downloads folder.

2

Unzip it

Right-click the downloaded file and choose "Extract All" (Windows) or double-click it (Mac). You should end up with a regular folder containing files like manifest.json.

3

Open your browser's extensions page

In Chrome or Edge, type this into the address bar and press Enter:

chrome://extensions

(On Edge, edge://extensions works the same way.)

4

Turn on Developer mode

There's a toggle in the top-right corner of that page labeled "Developer mode." Switch it on. This is what allows your browser to load extensions that aren't from the official store yet.

5

Click "Load unpacked"

A new button appears once Developer mode is on. Click it, then select the unzipped folder from Step 2 (the folder itself, not the zip file).

6

You're done

Eagle Team PDF now appears in your extensions list and in your browser toolbar. Click the icon any time, or right-click a PDF link and choose "Open with Eagle Team PDF."

Updating later

When a new version comes out, remove the old one from chrome://extensions, then repeat Steps 1–5 with the new zip. Once we're live on the Chrome Web Store, updates will happen automatically and this whole page becomes unnecessary.
